Risk Level Determination There are 3 levels: Exempt - will not require any further review after the initial approval and only needs to be reviewed by the chair of the IRB. Expedited - only needs to be reviewed by the chair or by a qualified member of the IRB that has been designated by the chair. However, the IRB is subject to annual review. Full Review - involve more than minimal risk or involves protected populations (minors, prisoners, pregnant women, persons with disabilities, etc.). Full Board projects are reviewed once a month at convened IRB meetings. **NOTE: minimal risk is defined as risk that is not greater than what one encounters in ordinary daily life or during the performance of routine physical or psychological examinations or tests.** start-gateway1start-gateway1gateway1-task1gateway1-gateway2gateway1-task1Flow_1g1qo7zgateway1-gateway2gateway2-task2gateway2-gateway3gateway2-task2task2-gateway3Flow_0z30t9qtask2-gateway3gateway2-gateway3gateway3-task3gateway3-task4gateway3-task3task3-endgateway3-task4task4-endtask3-endtask4-endFlow_1g1qo7zFlow_0z30t9q Source: https://www.uwgb.edu/UWGBCMS/media/irb/files/pdf/Exempt_Expedited_FullBoard.pdf
